ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) The Kentucky Derby is one of the biggest events of the year and the West Michigan community stepped out to Horsin’ Around at the Derby to benefit the Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding.
The Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding has been around for almost 25 years. It serves individuals with physical, mental, social, and emotional disabilities. Some of the benefits the program offers are helping increase core strength and upper body strength in children with disabilities. Right now, the center services about 120 to 160 individuals each week.
Horsin’ Around at the Derby is the largest fundraiser of the year for the organization, allowing it to continue its work in the community. You can help the Equest Center year-round. Find more information by calling (616) 866-3066 or visiting their website.
