Teen shot while riding bike in NE GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police continue to investigate a shooting in which a teen was injured in his lower extremities while riding his bicycle Wednesday evening.

It happened in the 600 block of Clancy Avenue near Fairbanks Street NE in Grand Rapids.

After being shot, police say, the 16-year-old male entered a home in the area to call police.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening, police on the scene said, but he was hospitalized.

Grand Rapids police said that as of early Thursday afternoon, no arrests had been made in the shooting.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are not yet known.
