HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD)– A local restaurant is hoping to help a family after the sudden passing of Ben Van Houten.
Back in April, Ben Van Houten died of a heart attack while playing outside with his kids. His family made headlines in 2004, after his wife gave birth to our state’s first set of surviving sextuplets.
Van Houten was a father of seven children and he had been married to his wife for 15 years. Van Houten was 39 years old when he died.
On Wednesday, Bagger Dave’s Restaurant in Holland will hold a fundrasier, benefitting the Van Houten family. The fundraiser will take place all day, starting at 11 a.m. until close. Bagger Dave’s is located on 3333 West Shore Drive in Holland. Bagger Dave’s will donate 15 percent of their sales Wednesday to the Van Houten family.
The restaurant’s CEO says as a father, the death of Ben hit close to home and they want to try and help the family as much as possible.
