TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WOOD) When you’re on vacation, you want to be ready for anything: a sporty adventure, dinner with the girlfriends, or a day with the family. So you want an outfit that can take you from one event to another.

On our travels to Traverse City, we discovered some specialty shops downtown. Backcountry North specializes in fashionable clothing for men and women that feels like performance wear. Haystacks started with the owner making pants in her kitchen. Now they offer handmade clothing and brand names made in the United States, as well as fun accessories.

Downtown Traverse City has a lot of unique shops. It’s a must-visit spot if you head up north this spring. You should also stop by the Sara Hardy Downtown Farmer’s Market. It’s now open for the season featuring local produce, baked goods, flowers, and plants.

On June 29, the Old Town Arts and Crafts Fair takes place, featuring more than 100 artists and craftsmen displaying their artwork. For even more ideas on activities and events, hotels and restaurants, visit the Traverse City Tourism website.
