Dan Bishop was accused of assaulting the victim – Albion’s human resources manager and assistant to the city manger – on Feb. 23, according to city and court documents.
Bishop was fired on March 3 by the Albion City Council, after the alleged assault complaint was turned in to the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office.
Bishop is awaiting sentencing, but the date has not been set yet. Assault and battery is a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of up to 93 days in jail and $500 in fines.
