Jury found father guilty of killing daughter

IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) — A jury found 74-year-old Donald Glenn Lasley guilty of 1st-degree murder and felony firearm charges in Ionia County Circuit Court Thursday.

Lasley called 911 admitting he shot his 37-year-old daughter Jacquie Osterhout on May 25, 2013.

He says Osterhout began swearing at him and then he confronted her with a shotgun. Lasley says his daughter basically dared him to shoot her and that is when he says he shot her in the face, according to court documents describing his version of events.

A sentencing date has not been set.
