Muskegon Twp. bank robber arrested

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) – Police in Muskegon Township have arrested a suspect they believe robbed a Muskegon Township bank Friday.

The robbery happened Friday morning at the Fifth Third Bank at 621 Dykstra Road, which is at the corner of Dykstra Road and N. Whitehall Road.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

Bank surveillance photos of the suspect, who was wearing blue jeans, a dark plaid jacket, and a ski cap and some type of fabric covering on his face, were released late Friday morning

Friday afternoon, authorities arrested 32-year-old Chad Lawrence Martin at his home on West Creekwood Drive in Muskegon Township. A large sum of money was recovered as well.

Authorities say media coverage of the robbery led to information about the suspect via Silent Observer tips.
