Keegan Baar, a senior who pitches for Hudsonville’s baseball team, has been promised an athletic scholarship to Michigan State University.

But he’s also been in contact with scouts from more than half of the teams in Major League Baseball. He could be chosen in the MLB Draft on June 6.

If that happens, he’ll have to decide whether he should take a signing bonus (the figure would be determined by the round in which he’s drafted), or take advantage of his scholarship and go to the MLB later.

==Above, Larry Figurski reports that while the choice may be difficult, it’s not a bad one for Baar to have before him.==
