BCPD: Man with gun was drunk

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A drunk man carrying a gun was arrested Sunday evening in Battle Creek, police say.

Around 8 p.m., officers received a report of a man with a shotgun threatening children in the area of Battle Creek Avenue and Caroline Street, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.

Officers said they found the suspect, still carrying the gun, within four minutes. They soon realized the man was intoxicated, according to BCPD.

He was jailed on charges of felonious assault, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.

No one was hurt.

BCPD is still investigating.
