2 arrested for Burger King burglary

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two suspects were taken to the Ottawa County Jail after being found with cash stolen from the fast-food restaurant where they previously worked.

The Burger King at 2378 North Park Drive in Holland Township was broken into early Monday morning during closed hours, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Mark Bennett said. The manager noticed money missing from the safe around 7 a.m.

Surveillance cameras showed two people entering the restaurant without forced entry around 1 a.m. and taking money from the safe.

The suspects were recognized by the manager as former employees. Authorities followed up on the names the manager provided and found the suspects hiding at an Allegan home.

The pair had the stolen money with them, Bennett said.

The suspects, 21 and 20, are expected to be charged with burglary of a safe.
