Shundarius Lawson, 20, was bound over on a charge of open murder in the death of 17-year-old Marquis Gresham.

The Muskegon Heights High School junior was shot and killed on April 23 as walked along Rotterdam Avenue near Fifth Streets. He was headed to his post-season basketball tournament.

Lawson’s co-defendant Ryheim Beasley and another witness testified against Lawson during a hearing Wednesday.

Beasley, 19, also faces a charge of open murder. He waived his preliminary hearing earlier this week, sending his case to trial.

Both were arrested the day after the shooting.

Lawson is expected to be back in court on May 19.
