Man dies after being stuck in donation bin

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Police say a 53-year-old man has died after getting stuck in a clothing donation bin in Lansing.

The Lansing State Journal reports officers responded about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday after getting a call that the man was trapped with his legs dangling outside. He was unresponsive when removed from the bin and pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s name wasn’t immediately released. An autopsy is planned.

Officer Robert Merritt says it appears that the man was trying to gain access to the bin. Merritt says the death isn’t considered suspicious.
