GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Postal workers in February found thousands of dollars in cash inside a stuffed animal.

The stuffed animal was in a box that was going through a United States post office in Grand Rapids and was headed to Phoenix, according to search warrant records.

Postal inspectors became suspicious of the box and opened it after a drug-sniffing dog alerted them that something may be inside.

When they took the stuffed animal out of the box, it felt heavy, so they cut into it. Stuffed inside was $15,900 in cash.

Police later raided a home and found bags of money totaling around $17,000, along with marijuana and scales.
