MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — One of West Michigan’s largest job fairs aimed at getting veterans back to work is happening on Friday.
The Muskegon Veterans Job Fair is taking place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the USS LST 393 Veterans Museum at 560 Mart Street.
According to officials, the national unemployment rate is 6.3%, but among veterans who have served since 2001, unemployment is nearly 8%.
Over the past two years, around 250 people have gotten jobs at this event.
There will be more than 90 companies looking to hire people for positions. There are a variety of jobs available including different categories of engineering jobs, a CPA, administration, marketing, drivers, general labor, correction officers, office, factory jobs, and banking to cashiers in grocery stores.
