4 vehicle crash causes power outages

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A four vehicle crash caused power outages for Consumer Energy customers in Holland Township Friday.

The crash happened around 10:55 a.m.on Lakewood Boulevard near Roost Avenue.

A 24-year-old Holland Township resident lost control, came back on the road and hit a vehicle. Then went off the road again, hitting a power pole. The name of the driver hasn’t been released and alcohol is suspected to be a factor.

The driver of the other vehicle, Traci Bosch from Holland, was shoved into a third vehicle. The third vehicle, crossed the center line and hit a fourth vehicle head on. Then causing the fourth vehicle to roll over.

There were no serious injuries. Although both drivers involved in the head on crash, Jose Baltezar from Holland and Douglas Oosterbann from Cadillac, received minor injures. Oosterbann, 58, was taken to the hospital.

Lakewood Boulevard was closed for about 45 minutes and power was later restored.

Over 1,000 customers were out of power, according to Consumers Energy.
