HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) One of the best ways to usher in the season is to visit a farmers market. They are open across West Michigan, doling out farm fresh goodness. A great one to check out is the Holland Farmers Market.
The Holland Farmers Market opened on Wednesday, May 14. Its first Saturday is May 17. Throughout the year, it hosts almost 90 different vendors selling everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to baked goods, meats, eggs, fish, cheeses, honey, and spices.
The Market also has fun events. Its Chef Series starts on May 17. Area chefs will demonstrate how to use fresh, seasonal, and locally grown ingredients to prepare a meal straight from the market. Chef Series is at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and is free. Each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon, there are fun and educational activities for kids from preschool through fifth grade.
The Holland Farmers Market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. now through December. It is located on 8th Street.
