Woman’s body found in Calhoun County yard

NEWTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a female found in the yard of a home.

The body was found at a residence on 12 Mile Road in Newton Township, which is 11 miles southeast of Battle Creek.

Sheriff Matt Saxton tells 24 Hour News 8 is not calling the death suspicious at the moment; only saying that deputies investigate all attended deaths.

Saxton says there is no outward signs of trauma to the body.

Descriptions of the victim were unavailable at this time.
