Plainwell superintendent suspended by school board

PLAINWELL, Mich. (WOOD) — The Plainwell Board of Education voted unanimously to suspend Superintendent Susan Wakefield.

The motion made by board member Kim Shafer and supported by board member Chris VanDenBerg was passed unanimously at the meeting on May 8.

The board suspended Wakefield for one day without pay “for violation of Board memorandum pertaining to student safety issues,” according to board president Amy Blades.

The board will be discussing the memo during a closed session meeting on Monday, Blades said.
