Woman airlifted to hospital after hitting tree

OLIVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Zeeland Township woman was airlifted to a hospital after driving into a tree Saturday.

Jessica Kooienga, 23, was driving on Stanton Street in Olive Township around 4:30 a.m. when she went off the road and hit a tree.

She was pinned in her vehicle on 13223 Stanton St. when police arrived at the scene. Then she was airlifted to a local hospital. Kooienga was in stable condition.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
