Crews battle flames coming out of Hopkins house

HOPKINS, Mich. (WOOD) — Two dogs died in a house fire in Hopkins early Monday morning.

Fire crews were called out to a home in the 1700 block of 126th Ave around 1 a.m.

When crews arrived, they saw flames coming out of the house.

Fire crews tell 24 Hour News 8 the homeowner called in the fire and made it out of the house.

Two dogs were killed in the fire.

Investigators believe a lit candle in the house was knocked over and started the fire.
