GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An old warehouse near downtown Grand Rapids is getting new life.
Grand Rapids City Commissioners approved tax breaks for the $32 million project that will turn the warehouse known as the Klingman’s building into apartment and retails space.
The four story building is located on Wealthy SW, near the Urban Market.
Developers plan to rehab the original portions of the building, and construct a parking deck.
The building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, will have 82 apartment and ground floor retails space.
City officials say they expect the developer to start work this fall.
