GRPD looks into 2 armed robberies

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids Police responded to two reports of armed robberies that occurred late Monday night and early Tuesday.

The first one happened at Guddi Beer and Wine liquor store in the 1200 block of College Avenue NE.

After the armed robbery, two men wearing black hooded sweatshirts and masks took off on foot headed west, a Grand Rapids Police Department lieutenant said.

Around 1 a.m., police responded to Oliver’s Market on Kalamazoo Avenue. Police say one man with a gun got away with something, but it is unclear what the robber got away with.

This makes four armed robberies Grand Rapids Police have been called out to in the past 36 hours. On Monday, police were called out to armed robberies at Rob’s Quick Stop and a taxi driver.

Police believe the four robberies are not connected.
