Buses by the Beach for burn survivors

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Some of the best known names in local music are part of a great fundraising effort for burn survivors. Brien Dews of the band Fauxgrass is chairman of Buses by the Beach.

Buses by the Beach started with a group of VW van lovers, who combined their love of Volkswagen style camping with raising money for The Phoenix Society For Burn Survivors. The money raised goes toward mentoring and support programs for people whose lives have been changed by a serious burn injury. The Phoenix Society is the world’s largest Burn Support Organization and is based in Grand Rapids.

Buses by the Beach is holding a festival on May 23 – 26 at Camp Blodgett in West Olive. The festival is family friendly and features a line-up of great bands, including Delilah DeWylde and The Lost Boys, Nicholas James and the Bandwagon, and Fauxgrass.

Tickets range are $10 for a vehicle pass, $35 for a day pass, and $75 for the weekend. Prices are per person. For more information on Buses by the Beach, visit their website.
