Man leads police on high-speed chase

CASS COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) – A Dowagiac police officer saw a vehicle passing other vehicles in the left turn lane while traveling north on North Front Street on Tuesday night around 8:30 p.m.

The officer attempted to pull the driver over, but he refused to stop.

The suspect fled down West Prairie Ronde Street at a high rate of speed, and hit a curb when he tried turning onto Middle Crossing, which landed him in the Dowagiac National Guard Armory lawn.

The suspect attempted to run on foot, but was caught shortly after.

He is being held at the Cass County Jail.
