MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) West Michigan is blessed to have an amazing medical community. But sometimes there are scenarios when you or a loved one need to travel a long distance to receive specialized medical care. Such transportation can be very expensive for most families. That’s where Wings of Mercy comes in.

Wings of Mercy is a non-profit organization made up of pilots who offer free flights to people who need to fly to a medical facility for specialized treatment.

Wings of Mercy is holding its 19th annual CareAffaire on Saturday, May 31. Come out for a pancake breakfast provided by the Lions Club. There is also a 5K Run for Wings, helicopter flights, classic car competition, kids events, and live music. The pancake breakfast is from 8 a.m. to noon and the 5K run is at 8 a.m. The CareAffaire takes place at the Executive Air Transport Hangar 2 at Muskegon Airport.
