Tornado sirens tested in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is alerting Kalamazoo residents that tornado-siren testing will occur for several days.

The maintenance will begin Wednesday and run through Friday, according to KDPS.

During that time, individual sirens will be activated to make sure they work properly, KDPS said.

Residents are being alerted that single-siren testing doesn’t signify a weather-related emergency, rather, only the activation of all sirens at the same time across the city at the same time should represent an emergency situation.
