OLIVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was hospitalized after a highway crash between Holland and Grand Haven Thursday afternoon.

It happened on US-31 just north of Bagley Road in Olive Township, near the Port Sheldon Township line.

Authorities say a Ford Escape struck a Ford Taurus that had run out of gas and was stopped on the side of the road.

Both vehicles rolled. The Escape landed on its roof on the shoulder and the Taurus upside down in the ditch.

The person in the Escape was taken to the hospital. The nature and severity of that person’s injuries are not yet known.
