GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) The Spring Parade of Homes begins on Friday, May 23, in Grand Rapids. This year looks like an exciting lineup with close to 80 homes on the tour. They range from the super luxurious to homes suitable for a first-time home buyer. There are also two remodels on this year’s spring tour.
One of the homes featured is a brand new house located in the historic Heritage Hill neighborhood. The house that used to stand at 444 Union SE was beyond repair and needed to be demolished. Builder Brian Huffman got permission from the historic district to do that, then designed a new house that hit in with the historic neighborhood. By building new, they were able to have a modern floor plan, upgraded appliances, and an energy efficient home. DeGraaf Interiors did the flooring, tile, and countertops in the impressive home. It also features the work of the Lighting Corner, Closet Design, and Williams Kitchen and Bath.
There are 79 homes on the spring tour this year. Twenty-six of them are for sale. The Spring Parade of Homes is on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Memorial Day from May 23 through June 7. Hours are 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults ages 13 and up when purchased online or at Option One Credit Union. They are $12 when purchased at the homes. Children 12 and under are free.
