Vehicle flipped into ditch on I-69

GIRARD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A vehicle with four passengers, including a 4-year-old girl, flipped on it’s side and slid into the ditch Friday.

The accident happened on southbound I-69 near the 18 mile marker in Girard Township, north of Coldwater, around 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office.

A Toyota Tundra, driven by Jordan Robertson, 22, of Coldwater, tried to change lanes but then drove off the roadway, over corrected and lost control. The vehicle turned onto it’s side and slid into the ditch, authorities said.

The driver and 4-year-old female passenger were taken to the hospital for evaluation. The other passengers, Clifford Robertson, 28, of Kalamazoo and Isaac Balsley, 19, of Coldwater, had no reported injuries, according to deputies.

The incident remains under investigation, but alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor and everyone was wearing their seat belts, the release said.
