Man in jail for breaking in and assault


UNION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is behind bars after allegedly forcing his way into a home and assaulting two women Saturday night.

The incident happened before 12 a.m. when troopers from the Michigan State Police Mt. Pleasant Post were called to a home in Union Township.

According to a news release, an intoxicated man forced his way into a home, pushed two women, and made verbal threats to harm the residents if police were called.

Troopers then located and arrested the 28-year-old man. He was in possession of a small amount of marijuana as well.

The suspect was lodged at the Isabella County Jail and is pending arraignment on two counts of misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor illegal entry into a home, possession of marijuana and parole violation.
