Motorcyclist airlifted after crash with car

TEKONSHA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital after failing to obey a stop sign and hitting a car, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened around 6 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Old 27 and M-60 in Tekonsha Township.

Witnesses told the sheriff’s office that motorcyclist Leonard Ciotta was headed south on Old 27 when he did not obey a stop sign and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by a 55-year-old Indiana woman.

Ciotta, 52, of Tekonsha was airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
