Library director charged with embezzlement

ALBION, Mich. (WOOD) — The Albion District Library director is accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from the library.

Karen Kuhn was arraigned Friday on charges of embezzlement between $1,000 and $20,000 and using a computer to commit a crime, according to Calhoun County Prosecutor David Gilbert.

She allegedly used her library-issued credit card to pay off personal debts, Gilbert said. Authorities aren’t yet certain precisely how much money she may have taken, but think it was between $4,000 and $14,000.

Kuhn turned herself in and was released on bond, Gilbert said.
