Galesburg PNC robbed at gunpoint

GALESBURG, Mich. (WOOD) — A man robbed a Galesburg bank branch a gunpoint Thursday afternoon.

It happened just before 2 p.m. at the PNC Bank branch located at 84 West Michigan Ave., according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say a man carrying a handgun stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the branch.

He then took off, crossing West Michigan Avenue and West Battle Creek Street, where he got into a car waiting for him in the parking lot of the Galesburg United Methodist Church. A second unknown person was behind the wheel.

The robber is described as a slim, 6-foot black male in his 20s. He was wearing a brown, front-zip hooded sweatshirt; a brown ball cap with a brown towel under it; a black T-shirt, tan pants; dark shoes and brown aviator-style sunglasses. He was carrying a blue messenger-style bag with a light-colored strap.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a small to midsize blue four-door sedan.
