GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was shot Thursday evening during a robbery, Grand Rapids police say.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Jefferson Avenue SE, just south of Hall Street, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.

One person was shot in the gut. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, but he was in surgery Thursday night.

The suspects in the robbery and shooting were described only as two men in dark clothing. It’s unknown what, if anything, they stole.

No one has been arrested in connection to the shooting and no suspects have been identified, police said.

It does not appear to be connected to another shooting Thursday evening in which a 16-year-old was allegedly shot by another teen, Grand Rapids police said.
