GRPD: 16-year-old shot, teen shooter flees

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A teen was shot as he sat on the porch of a Grand Rapids home Thursday evening.

It happened at a residence in the 1000 block of Niagara Avenue SE near Alexander Street.

The 16-year-old victim was sitting on a porch when he was shot by another teen. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, police at the scene said.

The shooter then took off on foot. It was not immediately known whether the shooter was in custody.

Police said witnesses in the area are not cooperating in their investigation.
