Man attempts to rob BK employee

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) – A Burger King employee was walking home from the West Michigan Avenue location around 1 a.m when he was approached by a man claiming to have a weapon.

The suspect stopped him near Miller and Willard Avenue, demanded money, and the contents of the victim’s bag.

The victim refused and told the suspect he had a knife causing him to flea the area.

The Burger King employee gave police a description of the suspect, and they were able to locate the 54-year-old man in the Urbandale Plaza parking lot.

The victim positively identified the suspect, who was taken into custody and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on a charge of strong armed robbery.
