Man with gun robs Cash Advance Store

MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – Police are searching for a man who robbed a Cash Advanced Store in Muskegon Township and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Employees said the suspect came into the store on Holton Road on Thursday just before 6 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded money, police said.

Both employees handed him an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect fled the store.

He was wearing a dark mask, U of M dark blue hooded sweatshirt and jeans, witnesses told police.

Officers tried to track the suspect with a K-9 Unit, which led officers into a subdivision behind the store near Meijer and Reeths Puffer Intermediate School and High School.

School officials put the school on lockdown while police searched the surrounding area.

Police are still investigating.
