The Believers Business Center, located on 1301 Cameron, collapsed after the back part of the building gave way. Building owner Carrie Bertrand tells 24 Hour News 8 that she had been working on the building, investing almost $400,000 of her own money into the project.

Bertrand was aware of a cracked beam in the structure and believes that the heavy snow this past winter may have furthered weakened the already weak structure, causing it to collapse.

Bertrand was trying to turn the warehouse into a community center. She says the building has insurance, but fears that it will not be enough to repair the damage.

No one was in the building during the time of the collapse.
