Man chased, arrested outside RiverTown Crossings

GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) – A police situation that involved three different departments ended in an arrest outside RiverTown Crossings Mall in Grandville.

The situation began with an unknown incident in Ottawa County, according to Grandville Police.

The suspect was later spotted in Wyoming and was then seen near Grandville High School by a school liaison officer, police said. The suspect tried to steal the officer’s car and the officer was able to stop him from doing so, but the suspect ran off.

The suspect then ran to the parking lot of RiverTown Crossings Mall near Macy’s, police said. However, Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies were able to catch him and took him into custody in the lot.

The situation resulted in a large police presence outside the mall.

Details on potential charges weren’t available.
