Holland group to perform in Europe for D-Day 70th anniversary

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) A group of musicians from Holland are getting ready for a trip of a lifetime — heading to Europe for the 70th anniversary of D-Day. The Holland American Legion Band will perform at ceremonies and concerts throughout Normandy, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands.

This is the second time the group has gone. They were there for the 65th anniversary, and they say this event will be even larger and more special than every before. It’s an emotional time for a lot of veterans, some of whom have not been back to the area since the war.

You can see the Holland American Legion Band will be back in Michigan in time to kick off their free summer concerts in Kollen Park. They are at 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday from June 11 through August 13. The June 11 concert will feature music of the World War II era.
