GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police have identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash last week.

He was identified Monday as Bryan Michael Lavelle, 27, of Grand Rapids.

The wreck happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 3100 block of Plaza Drive NE near Lamberton Lake Drive. Police say the motorcyclist failed to navigate a curve and crashed.

Both speed and alcohol appear to have been factors, police said. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but it had not been approved by the Department of Transportation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Grand Rapids Police Department at 616.456.3771 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
