Retired KDPS officer dies after motorcycle wreck

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) – A retired Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officer has died after being injured in a motorcycle wreck, according to KDPS Chief Jeff Hadley.

Greg Straka was riding with a group of motorcyclists in Canada on Memorial Day when he was involved in the wreck, Hadley said. He passed away on Saturday.

Straka served with KDPS for 27 years, according to his obituary.

Visitation for Straka is scheduled for Wednesday at Life Story Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 6080 Stadium Dr. in Kalamazoo.
