BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) – Battle Creek police are investigating an armed robbery that could be linked to at least two other armed robberies in the area.

The robbery happened just after 11 p.m. Sunday in the area of Union Street and Sherman Road northeast of downtown, according to police.

Three suspects approached the victim and punched him and hit him in the head with a gun before they took off with his wallet and cell phone, police said.

A K-9 unit tried unsuccessfully to track the suspects, who ran from the scene, police said.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.

Police said the robbery fits the description of at least two other robberies that occurred in May.
