West Ottawa schools seeks new board member

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — A seat has opened up on the West Ottawa Board of Education.

Bill Kangas resigned from his post effective June 1, saying he is moving to northern Michigan, according to a Monday release from the district. He had served on the board since July 2007.

With Kangas gone, the board is searching for an appointee to serve in his place until the November election. Those interested in the position should send a letter of interest and resume to:

Secretary of the Board
West Ottawa Public Schools
Administration Office Building
1138 136th Ave., Holland, MI 49424

Resumes may also be submitted via email to vandenbergj@westottawa.net.

Applicants must be United States citizens and registered voters of the West Ottawa Public School District.

Applications are due by noon on June 13. Candidates will be interviewed the week of June 16. The board hopes to choose a new member in time to swear that person in on July 1.
