BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Brad Wise has been named to the police inspector position at the Battle Creek Police Department.

Wise has served in BCPD for 19 years, according to a Monday release from the department.

A detective before his promotion, he has served on several boards in the department and has been recognized for his work on sexual assault prevention. He also teaches at the police academy and the Battle Creek Citizens Police Academy.

Wise succeeds Maria Alonso. She and Deputy Chief Jim Saylor were fired earlier this year after allegations arose that they had engaged in an inappropriate relationship. They are suing the city.
