Plan some summer fun at Binder Park Zoo

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) School will be out very soon, so right now is the perfect time to put some fun ideas on the calendar. One place to put on your list is Binder Park Zoo. They have some fun activities coming up!

The Cheetah Chase is Saturday, June 21. It’s a 5K run that takes participants through the zoo. It’s open to kids and adults, and you can participate in either the Gazelle Gallop or the Sloth Walk. Everyone who participates gets a free pass to the zoo for that day, a t-shirt, and a reusable tote bag. The event is sponsored by Meijer and funds go to help support the zoo.

If your little ones love giraffes, you must get to World Giraffe Day on June 21. The event aims to raise awareness of giraffe conservation. You can hear all about giraffes from zoo officials right on the giraffe deck, and hand feed the giraffes.

Another great event is FunFari, on Saturday, July 12. There will be fun outdoor activities, a kids fun run, a bounce house, and animal interactions.

Binder Park Zoo is located just three miles south of I-94 in Battle Creek. It’s open seven days a week.
