Armed robber arrested after fleeing pharmacy

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) – A 35-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested after robbing a Kalamazoo pharmacy with a handgun Friday.

Police went to the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 1032 E Cork Street around 10:30 a.m. after a man with a handgun robbed the store, according to release.

Police spoke to witnesses who described the suspect as heavyset white male. One witness was able to get a vehicle description and the direction the suspect was fleeing.

A few minutes later, Portage Police Officers located the suspect driving southbound on U.S. 131 near Center Street.

Police arrested the suspect without incident and when searching the vehicle authorities found evidence and a weapon, the release says. The suspected is at the Kalamazoo County Jail facing a weapons offense and armed robbery charges.
