PULLMAN, Mich. (WOOD) – Allegan County sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a woman was found dead in the home she shared with her live-in boyfriend in Pullman.

The body of the woman, who friends say was in her late teens, was found outside of the home in the 5500 block of Laraway Drive.

“The body…was placed in an area where there were some bricks in front of it,” said Captain Scott Matice.

Matice said that the young woman had likely died outside.  When asked if someone had tried to conceal the body, Matice said “that’s what we’re trying to find out right now during our investigation.  Right now, it looks like the body was outside when it was deceased and was then around a brick area that was hard to get to.”

Matice said the woman’s boyfriend was taken to the hospital to be treated for an injury to his hand.  He said that the man had been sedated and had not yet given a statement.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death were not released, Matce said there was trauma to the victim.

“The county of Allegan averages about one homicide a year so we don’t come down to Pullman for homicides that often,” said Matice.

Matice said that the cause of death would not be released until after the autopsy which is expected to happen Saturday.
