2 men shot in Battle Creek, 1 critical

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Two men were hospitalized, one in critical condition, after an early Sunday shooting in Battle Creek.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Walter Avenue, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.

Police say a 21-year-old man was found near the scene with gunshot wounds to his back side and a leg. That man was listed in critical condition Sunday.

Another man, also 21, showed up to a Battle Creek hospital with a gunshot wound to his side. Officials said he has a minor wound and should make a full recovery.

The victims told police that they were approached by a group of people before gunfire erupted.

Police did not have a suspect description Sunday.
