Remembrance Road construction begins

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — A large construction project on Remembrance Road in Walker began Monday.

The work will stretch from Leonard Street north to Walker Village Drive/Geddes Avenue. When it’s completed in September, Remembrance, currently a five-lane road, will have three lanes, bike lanes and new sidewalks.

During construction, the road will be narrowed to two lanes and public buses may not be able to stop at existing bus stops in the area.

Drivers should also expect some delays and intermittent restrictions on turning.
